Mrs. J. Derig, of Whangarei, and her small son, are staying at the Esplanade Hotel, Devonport.

Mrs. M. W. Forsythe, of Landsdowne Street, Bavswater, will leave by the Niagara to-day on a holiday visit to Suva.
Mrs. E. B. Ussher-Alcock, whose marriage took place in Auckland last week, is at present the guest of Mrs. Michael God by, Fendalton, Christehurch.
Mrs. J. McCulloch (Whakatane), Miss M. Strevens (Washington, United States), and Miss G. K. Overend (Wellington), are at the Central Hotel.
Miss A 1 lice Basten and Miss Caroline Basten, who are on holiday in Australia, expect to return by * the Aorangi, which leaves Sydney on September 1,
Mrs. M. R. Garrett (Winnipeg), Mrs. S. A. Clarke (Melbourne), Mrs. T. Higfibottom (Wanganui), Mrs. H. Schofield (Matamata), and Miss E. Vazey (Whangarei), are at the Station Hotel.
Mrs. M. Rudd, president of the Auckland Young Women's Christian Association, will leave by the Niagara to-day for Canada to attend the World Conference of the Y.W.C.A. Miss Amo Bennett, general secretary of the Whangarei branch, will accompany Mrs. Rudd.
Miss Helen MacCormick, Mountain Road, Epsom, will leave Auckland on August 23, by the Rangitata for England. She will join her sister, Miss Bessie MacCormick, who has been in England for several years. They will live in Kensington, London, during which time Miss Helen MacCormick will attend a college for the study of speechtraining and dramatic art.
A farewell gathering in honour of Mr. and Mrs. H. Crosby was held by the members of the Otorohanga Croquet Club. The president, Mrs. J. Sing, presented the guests of honour with a mirror as a memento of their long association with the club. Another member, Mrs. V. L. Fairbrother, who is leaving shortly for Masterton, was presented with a handbag.
