LATEST SCRATCHING GOLD DREDGE WITHDRAWN [BY TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT] CHRISTCHURCH, Friday Gold Dredge was scratched for the August Handicap at the Metropolitan Trotting Club's meeting at 12 o clock noon to-day. NEW COLOURS KING'S- PLAY AT METHVEN [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] CHRISTCHURCH, Friday When King's Play parades for the International Handicap he will be driven in new colours. For some time the gelding has been in the care of M. C. McTigue at Methven. M. Stewart, who did so well with this pacer, will be at the meeting and will handle Policy in his engagements. In the 'early part of last season Renown's Best showed every promise of developing into a Cup horse, but after waking at/ exhibition of her field in several■ races, she failed at Timaru. Since then her form has not been iinprcssivo, but she will make another appearance at Addington. Of her brilliancy theje is not a question-, but her hardpulling.tactics make matters difficult for her trainer, M. Holmes. King Crosby is set to give away 48 >' a rds in the Advance Handicap, and from the back of a field lie may do better than if placed on tho limit over a mile and'a-quarter race.
