Pruning Reminders
Where tree pruning has been delayed through inclement weather, make a point of getting the peaches, plums and cherries finished first. Sap How will soon be accelerated, and these kinds of fruits are prone to excessive bleeding and gumming if newly cut when growth begins. On occasion the writer has been compelled to complete pruning apples, pears, gooseberries and currants after the buds have broken into growth. On these kinds of trees the late pruning has been done with no apparent detriment.
