REALITY
By ELIZABETH GOW (14). Original. GREY dawn broke, throwing veils of white sunless light over all. Wide streaks ■of blue rnist slid downfrom the hills and floated among tall gums and lacy willows. , . V 'S, There was a resounding call of th'e' chanticleer and a whispered murmur of the wind among the vines, when the forest galloped a knight on a gal 4 lant white steed. He seemed to hate jumped right out of a story book. Hiding at a lightning pace, a silver helmet on his head, sword and. shield in hand, and spurs eagerly pressing hi
horse onwards, he seemed intent on performing some dangerous feat or heroic deed. But in reality this brave horseman was none other than brother Michael on Father's white pony, with a tin saucepan turned' upside down on his head, and risen early lest such a prank should he discovered.
But, ah, what a wonderful thing is imagination!
