DIVORCE PETITION

HUSBAND GRANTED DECREE A merchant, Edgar Stanmore Day (Mr. Mackay), sought divorce in the Supreme Court yesterday from Esther Mabel Day, alleging that she deserted him in November, 1928. The petition was heard by Mr. Justice Callan. The petitioner said they were married in Sydney on December 31, 1900, and had lived in Auckland since 1901. There were two children of the marriage. About 10 years ago when they were living at Milford he had financial difficulties and his wife and daughter became dissatisfied. They left the home and took the furniture with them. He had been unable to persuade them to return. His Honor issued a. decree nisi, to be moved absolute after three months.
