WILKINS' EXPEDITION LONG FLIGHT PLANNED VAXC'orVJuly 28 The Australian explorer Sir Hubert Wilkins, who is here to engage a surgeon. states that his South Polo expedition will leave early in August with an aeroplane, by steamer lor Capetown. There the party will transfer the aeroplane to a small vessel and sail for Enderby Land. From there they will fly non-stop 2000 miles over the l'ole to Little America. ANTARCTIC lIERO DEATH OF THOMAS CREAN LONDON, July 28 The death has occurred of Mr. Thomas Crean, a former petty officer in the Royal Navy, avlio went to the South l'ole twice with Scott and once with Shackletou. He once saved the lives of Scott, and Evans by going to a base LjO miles away and returning laden with food.
