PASTURES DRENCHED
NEW SOUTH WALES I?A1N GOOD WHEAT CROP ASSURED FURTHER DOWNPOUR SETS IN (Received July 20, 11.30 p.m.) SYDNEY. July 20 Splendid rain fell throughout New South Wales early this week, assuring a bountiful wheat harvest and good pastures, but the metropolitan area and a large part of tho coast entirely missed it. The rain, which lias now set in, drenching the whole coastline, shows signs of continuing during the weekend.
The city's dwindling water supply, ■which recently has been causing the Water Board much concern, necessitating restrictions owing to the rainfall being under the average, seems likely to be considerably replenished, as reports from the catchment area at present are most favourable.
