FORMER REPRESENTATIVES GATHERING AT EDEN PARK Several former New Zealand repre- , sentatives were at Eden Park on Saturday afternoon. Mr. R. J. Cooke, on holiday from Melbourne, was kept very busy renewing old friendships. He was a member of the 1903 New Zealand team which toured Australia. Another member of that combination—regarded by many as the best team ever to leave the Dominion—was Mr. G. Tyler, of Auckland. The pair were photographed in happy mood during the interval between spells in the representative match. Mr. Cooke was a former Canterbury representative, and he met many southern people at Eden Park, notably Mr. H. Frost, also a former Canterbury and New Zealand representative. Apart from Rugby, Mr. Cooke met several gentlemen who knew him in Canterbury in connection with boxing and cycling. An interesting meeting was that between Messrs. R. J. Cooke and A. E. Cooke, the star back of the undefeated 1924 All Blacks. They are not related, but, curiously enough, K. J.'s brother, who played, for Canterbury and for New Zealand in 1894, also claimed A. E. as his initials.
