THE GUARANTEED PRICE

Sir, —In your issue of July 9, you report me as Baying that "1 believed that the Dairy Farmers of New Zealand are so well satisfied with the guaranteed price scheme that no Opposition member would daro to speak against it to a meeting of producers." What I said was, from my Hansard proof, "Rt. Hon. member for Kaipara and other members on that side of the House said that the scheme was unworkable. They are not prepared to go before a dairyfartner audience to-day and say the scheme is unworkable. We do not say that it is perfect j wo do not say that it is all it shoulci be. At tlie same time the dairying industry is not going to let it go until it sees something better." J. G. Barclay.
