NAZI EXPEDITION
SOUTH-WEST AFRICA CONCERN IN TERRITORY - [from our own correspondent] JOHANNESBURG. June 13 Information of a projected visit this tnonth of 2000 Germans to South-West Africa (formerly a German colony and now a mandated territory) in a "Strength Through Joy" ship has paused perturbation here. To a deputation from the United Party Congress in session here the Administrator, Dr. D. G. Conradie, eaid he had had no official information of the proposed visit. If such a plan existed, he said, it could be expected that great preparations would precede the landing, for it was impossible for 2000 visitors to arrive without the necessary preparations for accommodation and 'commissariat. It was possible, of course, that such a visit would take place in small batches. However, the landing of 2000 persons was not a visit of a party of tourists - but an expedition, and if tho intention was to carry out this rumouied plan the Administration .would tackle the question. The necessary permits to land would have to be secured b.v each member of the party from the Union Government's office at Walvis Bay under the Aliens Act.
