Mrs. Carl Dickinson, of Auckland, is spending the winter in Honolulu. Mrs. Julian N. Dow, of California, arrived at Auckland yesterday by the Monterey. Mrs. Wills, Miss Wills (Hawera) and Miss D. Seymour (Gisborne), are at the Central Hotel. Mrs. Owen Campbell, Upland Road, Wellington, is the guest of Lady Richardson, Omnhu Road, Remuera. Miss Audrey MacNeil, William Street, Devon port, left yesterday by the Monterey, en route for England. Mrs. J. Wood, of Honolulu, arrived at Auckland yesterday by the Monterey, on a visit to Australia and New Zealand. Mrs. W. Marlow, of Danncvirke, who has been spending a holiday in Auckland returned homo yesterdav with her j husband. Mrs. Roy Reardon and family have returned to Taumarunui from a holiday spent with Mrs. C. R. Birchall, of Stanley Point. Mrs. A'. E. Odlin, of Mountain Road, accompanied by her husband, will leave by the Aorangi on Tuesday for a 6hort visit to Canada. Mrs. Clay von Hake, of Sydney, was a visitor to Auckland yesterday by the Monterey, after a holiday visit to the United States. Mrs. Dorothy Skinner of Christchurch, who lias been staying with Mrs. M. Kronfeld, will leave tomorrow night for Taranaki. Mrs. Alexander Knowles, of Kerikeri, Bay of Islands, is visiting Auckland, and is the guest of Mrs. C. J. 'funks, Arney Road, Remuera. Madame Jose Balthasar, wife of the Belginn Consul in Australia, arrived at Auckland yesterday by the Monterey after a visit to the United States. Mrs. L. Grapon (Massachusetts), Mrs. A. Barnes (California), Mrs. R. Andrews, Miss Betty Thorne (United States) and Mrs. W. Clarke (Gisborne), are at the Grand Hotel. Mrs. W. Withers, formerly of Tirau, accompanied by her husband, left last night by the Monterey for Sydney, en route for Great Britain, Europe and the United States of America. The Bayswater-Belmont Women's Society held its monthly meeting at the clubhouse, Bayswater, on Thursday. Mrs. C. A. Eraser presided. An interesting address was given by Miss Rutherford on astrology. A five hundred card tournament was held by the Ostend-Palm Beach Ratepayers and Residents' Progressive Association on Wednesday night. The winners wore Mrs. W. R. Russell, Ostend, and Mr. F. Cooper. Palm Beach. Supper was served by the ladies. Mrs. S. Field (London), Mrs. R. Crawford (Edmonton, Canada), Mrs. Lois Schwartz, Miss E. Terry (Texas, United States), Mrs. L. C. Graton, Cambridge, Massachusetts (United States), Mrs. C. E. Fulmer (San Francisco), Miss A. Boggs, Miss Virginia Edwards (St. Louis, United States), Miss V. B. Arnold (Denver, Colorado) and Miss H. Sternberg (Los Angeles), are at the Station Hotel. Another of,the series of five hundred card parties organised by the Onetangi Ratepayers and Residents' Progressive Association was held at Onetangi on Tuesday night. The effort was part of a campaign to | rajse funds for planting trees along the Onetangi Beach. Mrs. E. le Roy was hostess. The winners were Mrs. L. Jones and Mr. A. Pearson. The aggregate winning scores for the season were those of Mrs. A. Griffiths, 14,650 points, and Mr. F. Lang, 14,690 points.
