WEEK-END ATTRACTIONS
RUGBY AT EDEN PARK TABLE-TENNIS CHAMPIONS A full programme of sporting events, catering for all interests, will be carried out in Auckland to-day. The principal Rugby match to he played at Eden Park will be between Ponsonby and Technical Old Boys, tho leading teams in the championship competition, and a keen contest should result, braiton and Marist Old Boys will meet in the curtain-raiser at 1.30 p.m. Tho principal Rugby League game at Carlaw Park will also be between the leading teams, Marist Old Boys and Mount Albert, and should attract considerable interest. At Blandford Park, Comrades and Eastern Suburbs wiU meet in the association football competition. The third round of the Devonport Shield will be the centre of attraction for hockey enthusiasts, the main match at the Remuera Hockey Ground being St. Luke's versus United. Tho latter team is at present first in the championship with University, who will meet Somervillo on No. 2 ground. Ihe second A grade Auckland basketball representatives will play the Kerepeehi team at tho Windmill Road Courts this afternoon, and tho various cycling, luirrier, golf and bowling clubs will carry out their usual competitions. The outstanding attraction to-night will bo the meeting of the Hungarian and Auckland table-tennis champions at the Town Hall. Viktor Barr.a and Lazlo Bellak, the Hungarians, displayed a complete mastery of the game at tho demonstration they gavo last night, and excellent entertainment is assured.
