BOWLERS' ATTIRE
DIGNITY OF THE GAME
PLAYERS IN TOURNAMENTS CORRECT DRESS MANDATORY A resolution making it mandatory for competitors in Dominion and contio tournaments to be attired in appro\ed bowling costume was at the annual meeting of the council of the New Zealand Howling Association, which was concluded at Hotel Cargen yesterday afternoon. The point was raised during a lengthy consideration or amendments to rules and constitution. .Mr. H. ,B. Oakcy (Christcliurch) asked what penalty was intended when players turned up in "greys." iheio were so many shades of grey that lie thought there should be a ruling. Many of the councillors were against orantinf permission for the wearing of "greys." Mr. G. A. Nelson (Dunedin) voiced the opinion of the majority when he said that it was only right that "whites" or "creams" should bo worn and a proper costume in order to uphold the dignity of the game. Mr W. Connor (Dunedin) remarked that 'once the rule was made definite the umpire would, of course, be able to use his discretion in cases ot wet weather.
