SCHOLARSHIP WON
RESEARCH IN SCIENCE NEW ZEALAND STUDENT LONDON, July 6 The science research scholarship of the Koyal Commission for the Exhibition of 1851 has been awarded to a New Zealander, Mr. Edgar Frank Daly, for research in physical chemistry at the University College of'*London or the Universriy of Manchester. Mr. Edgar Frank Daly, who entered the Canterbury University College in 1934, completed his M.Sc. degree at that college last year, gaining firstclass honours in chemistry. He was recommended by the Senate for the scholarship. It is a "post-graduate," one intended to enable selected students of overseas universities, who have already completed a full university course and given evidence of capacity for scientific investigation, to devote themselves for two years to research work under conditions most likely to equip them for practical service in the scientific life of the Empire.
