SENIOR GRADE GAMES LEADING TEAMS TO MEET MOUNT ALBERT AND MARIST A great game is anticipated at Carlaw Park to-morrow, when the leading teams. Mount Albert and Marist, will stage the principal attraction in the senior championship of the Auckland Rugby League. Mount Albert is at present leading Marist by two points, but has played one more game than its opponents. Both teams are strong in the forward divisions and if the ground is heavy fi-ome strenuous tussles should result. The rearguards are fairly evenly matched,..with Marist perhaps holding the better balance all round. Mount Albert has shown improved form in its last two matches, but Marist will be a hard team to defeat. The result would appear to rest a great 'deal on possession of the ball from the scrums. Mount Albert has a fine hooker in Leatherbarrow and he should serve his team well in this department. There should be little difference between the packs in the tight play, while Mount Albert is ' lkc ' y prove more effective in the loose. Bo"' teams will be all out to win, as their chances of winning the championship will depend on the result to a Idrgfe extent. . ■ - - J The curtain-raiser will..bo.between aiid City. The former gave a good display last week in defeating Richmond, while City was also successful; over Po nso 11 by. ° n sent form Newton seems to havo y l ® better prospects of winhing. <■ ' , The principal match on the No. - will be staged by Richmond and .North ohore. Fast football should t*. witnessed in the contest and Richmond will need to show improved form to take the honours. As a curtain-raiser Ponsonby and Papakura ill try, conclusions and the former should win. Lower _ grade competitions will bo continued 10-irtorrow.
