AUSTRALIA LEADS NINE RUBBERS TO NIL [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION'] "WELLINGTON, Tuesday The first night's play of the badminton test match between New Zealand and Australia gives the latter a lead of nine rubbers to nil. The New Zealand players were completely outclassed. The results were (Australians first): — Singles.—Miss M. Horsburgh beat Miss M. Kerr, 11 —6, 9 —12, 11 —6; C. Craske beat P. Hawksworth, 15—9. 15—6. Doubles.—Misses E. Bobert and I. Hewett beat Miss M. Edmondson and Mrs. C. F. Wren, 15—5, 17 —14; C. Craske and T. Thompson beat J. Spedding and K. W. Lewis. 15—9, 15—8: R Harper and B. G. Tonkin beat P. Hawksworth and E. A. Roussell, 15—1, 15—6: Misses M. Horsburgh and B. Cuthbertson beat Misses M. Kerr and N. Fleming, 15—10, 15—12; P.
