CANDIDATE WITHDRAWS CONTEST FOR PATEA SEAT [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] TIAWERA, Tuesday Previously announced as the Labour candidate for the Patea seat at the general election, Mr. W. G. Simpson has now withdrawn from the contest. He will act as party organiser for the whole of Taranaki. . No successor has definitely been appointed, although Mr. C. j. Duggan will probably be accepted.
