CHARGES OF FRAUD
ALLEGED FALSE CHEQUES YOUNG MAN REMANDED [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Thursday Two charges of false pretences werfl brought against Eaymond Leeder, aged 21, road contractor, before Mr. G. K. Sinclair, J.P., in the Police Court to-day. Accused was charged with obtaining a motor-car valued at £l2O from Craik Motors, Limited, To Awamutu, by falsely representing that a cheque drawn on the Bank of New Zealand, Hamilton, for £6O was valid. The second charge was that he obtained shirts valued at 13s lOd, besides £3 6s 2d in money, from W. J. Fetch ell, Limited, of Itaglan, by falsely representing that a cheque drawn on the Bank of New Zealand, Hamilton, for £4 was valid. On the application of Detective J. Hayes, of Hamilton, accustsd remanded in custody until Monday.
