THE SOCCER GAME

FLYGER ROSE BOWL MATCH INVITATION TO WELLINGTON I i The lack of challenges for the Flyger Rose Bowl was the subject of discussion at last night's meeting of the control board of the Auckland Football Association. It was pointed out that this trophy, which is for competition between teams under 21 years of age, had provided some good matches in past seasons. It was decided to sfiggest to the Wellington Association that Auckland would bo pleased to accept a challenge for a game to be played as the curtain-raiser to the North Island final of the Chatham Cup, which will be decided at Blandford Park on July 30.. Complaints regarding transfer fees were received from several clubs. It was stated that, with different fees fixed for different grades, several clubs had transferred players and bftd paid the fee of the grade from which they had come, and then had played them in a higher grade in their new club. The suggestion was made that the fee of the higher grade should have been paid in the first instance. With a view to tightening up the rule, it was decided to raise the matter at the next annual meeting In tho mean* tiros, the adjusting of transfer fcesfi was left to the discretion ol the secretary. Thp following transfers were confirmed:— P. Wiseman, Abels to Onehunga; G. Rutherford, Onehnnga to Comrades. Officials were appointed to the following grounds on Saturday:—Blandford Park, Messrs. F.
