DISTURBANCE IN THEATRE DISORDERLY MAORI [bt telegraph —own correspondent] OPOTIKI, Monday As the result of a disturbance in » picture theatre on Saturday night, » Maori, Kahurangi Kari, was charged at Opotiki to-day with disorderly conduct. Each time the Irish tenor, Mr. Dan Foley, commenced to emg, accused, who was stated by Sergeant Isbister to be intoxicated, created » disturbance. Other Maoris called out to him to stop. . As a result of the disturbance, Foley left the stage, complaining that he had never before been treated so badly in New Zealand. The police wer# called in. , k On the accused agreeing to take ou* a prohibition order, the Bench im p°. a fine of £5, in default 14 days l»* prisonment.
