Mr. F. Gilchrist inquired of the Mayor what arrangements had been made for obtaining money at call until such time as the current year's rates become payable. The town clerk, at the Mayor's request, explained that £10;000 had been borrowed at call, the rate being 2 per cent.^ A number of complaints having been received regarding the condition of the water supply in the To Pnpapa area, it was decided to endorse the action of the chairman of the Waterworks Committee, Mr. L. F. Oatt, in stop.ping temporarily pumping in that locality, Investigations are to be made to test another spring at the rear of the railway station. The Auckland Metropolitan Fire Board notified that tha amount of th© annual levy on Onehunga _ had been assessed at £655, being an increase of £56 on last year's le\iy. The wages of the poundfceeper and ranger were increased to £4 a week, with fees, and the position made a full-time one.
