APPEAL FOR ABSISTANOE DOCTOR ASKS FOR £3OOO ' i [by TELEQBAPH —OWN correspondent] WELLINGTON, Monday An appeal for a further £3OOO to alleviate starvation in China caused by the cutting of dykes of the Yellow Tliver Ims been received by the Red: Cross Far East Relief Fund organisa- j tion from Dr. Robert B. Grey, of ! Hankow, who was sent to China by i the organisation. The following cablegram was re- I ccived from Dr. Grey: "Thousands are '■ on the verge of starvation due to the' cutting of the dykes of the Yellow River. Organising relief, need £.'looo. If council sanctions, cable money and reply Hongkong Bank, Hankow." Dr. Grey has been advised that, his proposal is under consideration by the Far East Relief Committee, but because of its future liabilities and the sending of two further doctors it is considered that funds are now insufficient to meet the request, Recently £2OOO was sent to the International Red Cross Committee at Hankow. ;
