RAILWAYMEN'S PROTEST
MEETING AT OTAHUHU Exception to recent remarks made by the Hon. Adam Hamilton concerning railway servants was taken at a meeting of railway workshops' employees held at Otahuhu during the lunch hour yesterday. The following resolution was passed: —"That this mass meeting of over 1000 railway workshops' employees express its strongest disapproval of the recent utterances of the Hon. Adam Hamilton in casting a slur on a loyal body of State industrialists in connection with the recent unavoidable railway accidents. We assure the Minister of Railways and the public generally that the employees concerned are careful and diligent in occupations and that the standard of efficiency was never higher than at present. Consequently we trust that intelligent people will treat with contempt such scurrilous propaganda ostensibly used for electioneering purposes."
