TELEPHONE TOLL FIGURES

The number of telephone toll calls handled in the Dominion during the year ended March 31 last exceeded 14,480,200, a monthly average of nearly 1,207,000, according to a report furnished by the Postmaster-General, the Hon. F* Jones. This average has been easily exceeded by the figures tor April and May of the current year, calls in April numbering 1.277,800, and in May 1,281,960. These figures represent increases of 8 and 10 per cent respectively over the corresponding months of 1937.
