Mrs. J. G. Coates, of Matakohe, is at the Grand Hotel. Mrs. A. A. Jarvie, Church Street, Devonport, is spending a holiday at Helensville. Mrs. W. S. G. Paton, of Remuera, left yesterday for a holiday in the South Island. Mrs. D. Naughton, The Strand, Takapuna, has returned from a visit to Helensville. Miss Beth Svranston, of Takapuna, returned to Auckland yesterday from a visit to Rotorua. Mrs. Sydney Paton, of Remuera, left yesterday on a month's visit to Christchurch and Lyttelton. Mrs. Max Lichtenstein, of Auckland, will leave by the Mariposa on Monday on a visit to California and Canada. Mrs. Geoffrey Pickthall, Cheltenham Road, Devonport, and Mrs. P. Clatworthy, Burrows Avenue, Parnell, leave by car to-day on a visit to the Rotorua district. Mrs. Andrew Rutherford and Miss Emily Rutherford, Mendip Hills, Canterbury, leave Wellington to-day by the Awatea for a visit to Sydney and Queensland. Mrs. W. T. Leggett and Miss Margaret Leggett, of Epsom, Auckland, have returned home after an extended visit to Mrs. H. G. Groves, Marangai, Masterton. Mrs. A. M. White (Gisborne), Mrs. G. H. Mends (To Puke), Mrs. R. Nelson (Whangarei), Mrs. J. Banks, Miss E. Banks and Miss T. Hopo (Waikino) are at the Central Hotel. Mrs. E. Ross (California), Mrs. E. J. Hazehvood (Marlborough), Mrs. R. D. Davidson (Rotorua), Mrs. J. M. Horton (Hamilton) and Miss Elfie Reed (Bay of Islands), are at the Station Hotel. Mrs. F. C. Harwin and her niece, Miss Muriel Harwin, of Durban, South Africa, who have been visiting Auckland, will leave by the Wanganella this evening for Sydney on their return homo. Members and friends of the Women's Progress Club met on Wednesday afternoon, Mrs. T. Pearco presiding. An address on family life in Shanghai was given by Mrs. Frank Bartlev and recitations were rendered by Miss Joan Gilford. Afternoon tea- hostesses were Mrs. Hubbert, Mrs. Greeh, Mrs Neave and Mrs. Deverick.
