WIN FOR AUSTRALIANS WELLINGTON TEAM DEFEATED [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON, Thursday The Australian badminton team beat a strong Wellington team by 6even rubbers to one to-night. The results are as follows, Australian players being mentioned first:— Men's singles.— T. Thompson beat H. D. Reid, beat E. A. Roussell, 15 —7, 15 —11. Ladies' singles.—Miss M Horsburgh lost to Miss N. Fleming,, 9 —12, 6 —11; Miss B. Cuthbertson beat Miss F Fernie. 11—6, 4—ll, 11-^5. Men's and Thompson beat Roussell and Reid, 15 —7. 15—11. Ladies' doubles.—Misses Horsburgh and Cuthbertson beat Misses Fleming and Fernie, 15 —11, 15—5. Mixed doubles. —Thompson and Miss Horsburgh beat Reid and Miss Fernie, 15 —6, 17—14; Craske and Miss Cuthbertson beat Roussell and Miss Fleming;. 15—6, 15—10.
