LEAGUE OF MOTHERS
City Branch.—At the monthly meeting of the City branch of the League of Mothers, jVlrs. Braclstreet gave a description of the lives and customs of the women of Pitcairn Island, and the Arab women of Algiers. Pianoforte solos were given by Mrs. R. Richards and Mrs. Leslie Meek sang. Mrs. P. A. Lindsay presided and the committee members served afternoon tea. An address on diot was given by Miss Lowe, of tho Mount Albert Grammar School hostel, to the Mount Albert branch of tho League of Mothers. Much interest was displayed by her audience and many questions were asked by the mothers. Mrs. M. M. Turner presided Tho thought for the month was give)) h_v Mrs. Deacon, sen. Solos by Mrs. Harvey, elocutionary items by Mrs. Bencroft, and pianoforte solos by Miss Beecroft were greatly enjoyed. Mrs. Mead and Mrs. Hawke were the hostesses for the afternoon and tea was served by Sirs. K. Turner and her committee. Tho June meeting of the Pukekohe branch of tho League of Mothers was held recently and was presided over by Mrs. G. C. Revoll. The thought for the month was given by Mrs. Sharp and a paper prepared by the W.E.A. for the women's groups was read by Mrs. G. C. Revel 1. A competition was won by Mrs. H. Mills. Hostesses for tea were Mrs. Sharp and Mrs. A. Patterson.
