RUSSIA AND SCANDINAVIA ADDRESS TO CLASSIC CLUB The fourth meeting of the Classic Club this season was held on Tuesday night in the Overseas League rooms. An interesting programme of Russian and Scandinavian music was presented. A feature of the evening was a talk by Dr. S. Kenneth Phillips on modern northern composers dealing particularly with present-day composers o; merit in Russia, Finland, Norway and Sweden. Members who contributed items were Miss Elizabeth Brown, Mrs. Rena Edwards, Miss Dorothy Gordon and Mr. Howard Jenkin, who sang, and Miss Netta Simich and Miss Joan Dowding, who played pianoforte solos. The accompanists were Dr. S. Kenneth Phillips and Mr. Owen Jensen.
