GIRL GUIDES' CONCERT

ONEHUNGA ENTERTAINMENT Charmingly dressed in black and white satin, St. Peter's, Onchunga, Girl Guides provided a bright and enjoyable entertainment, under the direction of Mrs. T. H. C Partridge, in the parish hall this week. The function was repeated t" a large audience in St. James' Hall, Mangere, 011 Tuesday evening. The entertainment took the form of a pierrot and picetto concert and consisted of dialogues, humorous sketches and character and action songs, these including many popular airs. Those taking part were: —Alma Bray, Mary Peake, Cyprian Peake, Nancy Pillinger, Mabel Pillinger, Loma Witherow, Jessie Kemp, Barbara Lipscombe, Shirlev Connellv, Jov Coldicutt. Madge Peake, Phyllis Wakerly. Other features of the programme were vocal solos by Mrs. C. D. Simpson. Mrs. Ascher and Mrs. Brown Morris. Mrs. Simpson and Mrs. Aseher also contributed a duet. Mr.. F. Grace provided legerdemain, and Miss Juno Taylor contributed 'cello solos. Mr. Armour and Mr. Allan led community singing with violin and accordeou accompaniments. The pianoforte accompaniments were played by Mrs. L. Grace, Mrs. Partridge and Mr. J. L. Lattimer.
