HEAVY-WEIGHT BOXING
LOUIS VERSUS SCHMELING BIG GATE ANTICIPATED (Recoived Juno 19, 6.30 p.m.) NEW YORK, June 18 The first 1,000,000-dollar gate since the days of Dempsey and Tunney is in sight as Joe Louis and Max Sclimeling prepare for their final work-outs before next Wednesday's boxing bout for the world heavyweight championship. It is indicated that at least 90,000 spectators will attend. Louis boxed well to-day. He hit hard and fast with both hands and staggered two sparring partners severely. The champion will have his final boxing session to-morrow and will exerciso lightly on Monday. Schmeling put in a strenuous six rounds to-day. He will repeat this tomorrow and box four rounds on Monday. Jack Domsey, in an article in the Herald Tribune, predicts that Schmeling will knock out Louis in a short, sharp fight.
