TEAM ORDERED OFF
END TO RUGBY GAME FIRM ACTION BY REFEREE DECLARED NO-DECISION MATCH The whole of the Otahuhu Rugby Football Club's fourth grade team was ordered off the field when playing against the Tamaki Club at St. Heliers Bay cn Saturday afternoon. During the first spell there was frequent roughness, Otahuhu players being apparently the chief offenders. Fists were used and opponents kicked. Prior to the start of the second spell the referee called the players together and warned them that, if there was a repetition of rough play, he woul send the team off. About half-way through the spell, when Otahuhu was leading by 5 points to 3, blows were struck among the forwards, and 0 referee, Mr. J. H. Land, immediately ordered the Otahuhu team to leave the field. _ , The players walked off in a b y> members of the Tamaki team and 6 spectators being taken aback by ® suddenness and firmness of the referee s action. He declared there to be no cision to the match.
