BRITISH CELEBRATION f PARADES AT PORTSMOUTH SERVICES PARTICIPATE (Received June 10, 6.5 p.m.) British "Wireless RUGBY, June 9 Warships were dressed overall at Portsmouth to-day in honour of the King's birthday, which actually falls on December 14, but is celebrated in Britain on June 9. Salutes were fired by the Navy. The Army and the Air Force took part in ceremonial parades concluding with a fly-past of 12 aircraft and three flying-boats.

AMERICAN PRESIDENT MESSAGE JO HIS MAJESTY, (Received June 10, 5.5 p.m.) WASHINGTON, June 9 President Roosevelt cabled to King George saying*. "On the occasion of the celebration of Your Majesty's birth please accept my most sincere good wishes for your personal health and happiness and for the continued wellbeing of your people." CEREMONIES AT APIA (Received June 10, 11.45 p.m.) APIA, June 9 King's Birthday celebrations were held at Apia to-day, including a ceremony in the Administration Buildings in the morning. This was well attended by Europeans and Samoans. Addresses were given by the Acting Administrator, Mr. A. C. Turnbull, the High Chief Tamasese and the Hon. T. H. Carruthers, M.'L.C. School sports were held on the racecourse in the afternoon and a ball at Government House in the evening.
