EPSOM TROTTING

WELL-BRED WINNERS LINES OF PIRATE'S LAST, BINGEN AND WILDWOOD BLOOD BY ABAYDOS Although the results of the racing at the Auckland Trotting Club's winter meeting. at Epsom were a splendid triumph for Bingen sires, who were represented by six winners, the remainder of the events were well divided among others, Rey de Oro (two), Jack Potts, Wrack, Roy Redmond, Gold Bell, Jewel Pointer and Our Thorpe all being successfully represented also. Horses of the Bingen lino were also nine times placed. The dual success of Pirate's Last, a ,win by Sylvan and plaeings by Pirate's Last, Nelson Chief (twice) and Frontier Boy, gave Nelson Bingen a monopoly of the sires represented in the four races for straight-out trotters. Wild Pirate> dam of Pirate's Last, was by Pirate, by Honesty from the Wildwood mare Wild Tracey. Although not a success when raced, Wild Pirate has proved a prolific and successful brood mare. , The progeny of Wild Pirate includes the following good winners:—Oruarangi, by Golcaida; Queen Pirate, by Normintson; Waitaka, by Gold Bell; Peter Pirate, by Peter, Moko; and Nelson Pirate, a full-brother to Pirate's Last. Berry's stable, and the Canterbury trainer has a high opinion of him. Daughter of Great Bingen

Crocus, who won the C. F. Mark Memorial Handicap, from end to end, represents Great Bingen, one of Nelson Bingen's best racing sons. Crocus is a fine pacer and it is a pity that she is inclined-to be unreliable at the-bar-rier,. ~ '
