GENERAL ELECTION
.NATIONAL INTERESTS SELECTING CANDIDATES POSITION IN PROVINCE Selection of National Party candidates over the Auckland Province for the general election is now well forward. In South Auckland all candidates have been chosen for the different electorates with the exception of Thames, and in the northern division the party organisations have approved candidates in several electorates.
In addition to two sitting members, Mr. W. P. Endean (Parnell) and the Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates (Kaipara), Mr. A. J. Murdoch has been selected for Marsden, Mr. J. N. Massey for Franklin, and Mr ; K. B. Tennent for Otahuhu. Nominations have closed with the party organisation for the Roskill seat. Candidates for the ballot in the final selection, which will bo made shortly,, are Mr. A. S. Bailey, who headed the poll at the recent election for the City Council, Mr. T. J. Ileming, who contested the seat at the last general election, and Mr. G. C. Munns, who won the seat in the United interest in 1928. Messrs. Clive C. Cameron and H. F. Guy will go to the party ballot for the Bay of Islands electorate on June 30. Party nominations close for Waitemata on June 27.
Organisation is proceeding in several Auckland city electorates in order to bring the party membership in each instance up to 2000, this being a preliminary to selection of candidates.
