METHODIST HOMES
CLOTH IN G FUN D; AID ED BRING AND BUY SALE The ladies' committee of the Methodist Children's Homes held a "bring-and-buy" sale in the Pitt Street Methodist Church Hall recently in aid of the clothing fund for the children. As the present time is the 25th anniversary of the opening of the first Methodist home in New Zealand, that at Mount Albert, special arrangements were made to commemorate the event.
The chairman of the district, the Rev. F. Copeland, gave a brief opening address. He was supported on the platform by Mrs. Emerson, Mrs. Peake and Mrs. Armitage. Proof of tho excellence of the work being done in the homes was evidenced by the presence of past and present boys and girls, who were also seated on the platform. As the ladies' committee is responsible for the clolliiilg of the 90 children in the homes they were very gratified at the large number of interested buyers, and with the wonderfully substantial result of their efforts. Many willing workers contributed to the success of the afternoon. .
