C. Harrison, in the Thames Police Court this morning when Hori Grey, a Maori, appeared on a charge of aiding and abetting the commission of an offence, the supply of liquor to a native. In this instance, said Sergeant Harrison, three men were seen drinking from a bottle behind a car in Mackay Street on a night when a dance was in progress. The defendant was seen drinking from a bottle, which he put in another man's pocket when the police arrived. . Mr. W. H. Freeman, S.M., to defendant: You have enough hotels in Thames. You go to a dance to dance, and not to drink. Defendant was fined £1 and costs 17s.
