RATANA DERAILMENT
RECOVERY OF THE DRIVER INQUIRY TO BE RESUMED [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON, Tuesday The driver <;>f tho train which w.as derailed at Ratana, Mr. E. Percival, is out and about again, although he is still under medical treatment. He is at present an outpatient of the Wellington Hospital, where he is daily receiving attention. The investigation into the derailmtmt will be resumed next Tuesday, and persons desiring to givo evidence relevant to the subject matter of the inquiry, or to be represented, are asked to communicate with Mr. J. G. Whetton, secretary to the Inquiry Board. Air! Whetton states that the board intends calling an additional 24 passengers, after which there will be crossexamination of certain technical witnesses. According to present indications Mr. Percival will bo the last witness.
