NAVAL DANCE

ADMIEAL ENTERTAINS MANY GUESTS PRESENT REPRESENTATIVE GATHERING Tho formal lines of H.M.S. Achilles were relieved with gay colours of many Hags last night, when Rear-Admiral tho Hon. E. R. Drummond gave a dance on board to the many friends he lias made during his term in New Zealand. The guests included members of the three sorvices, among whom were tho officers of His Majesty's ships in port and their wives, as well as representative citizens of Auckland. The night, though cola, was perfect for dancing, the decks having been enclosed with awnings and flags to keep out the cool sea breeze: As the day of departure from New Zealand is drawing near, many of the guests took the opportunity of bidding farewell to their host and to the Lady Evelyn Drummond, who have formed many warm friendships during their residence in the Dominion.
