BILLIARDS CONTEST
NEW ZEALANDER'S MATCH (Received Juno 4, 1.5 a.m.) MELBOURNE, June 3 The New Zealand billiards champion, S. Moses, met A. M. Burke, of South Africa, in the British Empire amateur championship to-day. Moses was nervous in the afternoon session and failed to convert good openings into breaks. Burke soon ran ahead, the session's scores being:—Burke, 619; Moses, 434. Moses' nervousness continued this evening until the last hour, when he recovered brilliantly. Breaks of 105, 51 and 93 took him to 18 ahead, and tho game ended: Moses, 1141; Burke, 1078.
