WORLD CRUISE YACHTS
LAND'S END FOR AUCKLAND STAGE FROM COOK ISLANDS On a cruise of the world, the ketchrigged yacht Land's End, flying the ensign of the Royal Natal Yacht Club, will shortly reach Auckland from Rarotonga, Cook Islands, according to advice received by the Auckland harbourmaster, Captain 11. H. Sergeant, yesterday. Since slio cleared Durban in September, tho Land's End has visited St. Helena, Ascension Island, Trinidad, Curacao, Panama, Galapagos, Tahiti, Moorea, Raiatea, Bora Bora aiid Rarotonga. Her owner, Mr. H. Jeffery, is her master, and with him is a crew of three. Tho Land's End is designed on the lines of a Brixham trawler. Slio is 57ft. in length and loft, in beam, with a draught of Bft. 6in. by the stern. Her sails are Bermuda cut and she is fitted with a Diesel engine. Mr. Jeffery is anxious to soo, s as. much of the Auckland yachting fleet as possible. A second yacht reported to include a visit to Auckland in a world cruise is a cutter of 26ft. owned by Mr. Robert Mill, of Los" Angeles. Ho has a crew of one and will visit Pago Pago and New Guinea before arriving here.
