DAVIS CUP TENNIS

YUGOSLAVIA IN SEMI-FINALS SWEDEN FORCED TO SCRATCH ZAGREB, May 81 Owing to an injured foot, Schroeder (Sweden) was unable to take the court against Puncec (Yugoslavia) in the Davis Cup to-day, with the result that Sweden had to scratch in the remaining singles. The Scandinavian country's withdrawal qualified Yugoslavia to meet Belgium in the semi-finals, in which the other contest is between Germany and France. Tbis was the second unsatisfactory ending to a match in Yugoslavia, as the tie against Czechoslovakia was awarded to the former last month, when Cejnar refused to continue the deciding rubber against Mitic after seven o'clock. At that stage the Yugoslav was leading 2 —l in the fifth set.
