GUILTY AT RETRIAL

COOK ON ASSAULT CHARGE [BY TELEGRAPH —'PRESS ASSOCIATION] GISBORNE. Wednesday A charge of indecently assaulting a young Maori boy, aged nine, at Gisborne on January 4, 1938, was preferred against a cook, Lorenzo Griguol, in the Supreme Court to-day before Mr. Justice Reed. This case was a. rehearing, the jury having disagreed at tho previous sitting of tho Court. Griguol was represented bv Messrs. L. T. Burnard and D. W. lies, the case for the Crown being in tho hands of the Crown Prosecutor, Mr. K. W. Nolan After a retirement of an hour the jury returned with a verdict of guilty and Griguol was remanded for sentence.
