DEATH OF LINESMAN FALL AGAINST LIVE CABLE ACCIDENT NEAR BLENHEIM [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] BLENHEIM, Tuesday While engaged on a main line inspection, Mr. Rupert Leslie Harty, aged 42, married, a linesman employed by the Marlborough Power Board, was electrocuted. Deceased, who had climbed a steel lattice tower to examine the insulators, apparently fell against a 11,000-volt cable. The accident was not discovered until the inspection gang, which had split up, reassembled at lunch time. Mr. Harty was a former King Country representative footballer and a Marlborough and Nelson swimming champion.
