JUNIOR MANAGEMENT MATCH WITH THAMES VALLEY Advice was received at last evening's meeting of the junior management board of the Auckland Rugby Union that the selection of the third grade representative side to meet the Thames Valley juniors on Monday would be deferred until later in the week. Mr. C. Addison was appointed manager of the Auckland team. The Tamaki third grade team was granted permission to play a side from Morrinsville at Auckland next Monday. A player who was ordered off last Saturday for late tackling received a caution. The transfer of I. T. Nicholas from Training College to University was approved. The following regradings wero granted:— I. W. Thompson and J. W. Ferguson (Grammar), second grado to third. The following ground officials wero appointed for Saturday:—Avondale, Mr. I<\ Warren; Three Kings, Mr. A. Scott; Walker Park, Mr. A. Fraser; Western Springs, Mr. Skinner; Stadium, Mr. S. G. Mclvcnzie, sole selector to tho Waikato Rugby Lin ion, for inclusion in the North Island team to play the South Island representatives at Wellington on June 11; Ccntrc-threequarter, J. Everest (Hamilton); halfback, L. Russell (Morrinsville); side row of scrum, J. Wynyard (Waipa); front row of scrum, E. Catley (Taupiri). Wynyard is tho only noinineo who has previously gained All Black honours, having toured with the J 1)3.0 team to Great Britain as a side-row forward. Ho was not selected to take part in tho trials in preparation for the tests against the Springboks last season, but this year is revealing much more convincing form. Catley has been hooker for the Waikato representatives for tho past two or three, seasons. Ho was nominated for tho All Black trials last season, but did not play in any of the games. Be hooked for the combined Wai-kato-King Country-Thames Valley team against the Springboks at Hamilton last year. Russell is the Walkato representative halfbuck. He played in two of (lie five All Black trials last season, but suffered a shoulder injury at a time when his selection looked likely.
