CONTINENTAL TOUR
NEW ZEALAND GIRLS HOLLAND AND GERMANY After touring Holland and Germany. Miss Isabel Morrison, of Blenheim, and Miss Celia Reese, of Christchurch, have returned to England, wrote our London correspondent on May ]l. They made an eight-day tour of the former country under the auspices of the British Federation of University Women. On arrival at The Hague they were joined by a member of the Dutch federation, who acted as a guide. At Ihe Hague and at Amsterdam they were entertained at evening parties by Dr. Doppler and Dr. Asman, and also by Dr. Henriette Lohr. They had an opportunity of meeting some very interesting professional women, including social workers, doctors, dentists, civil engineers and chemical engineers. Ihe New Zealand travellers could not help noticing the air of prosperity which seems general throughout Holland. At the end of their tour, Miss Morrison and Miss Reese left their party at Leyden and journeyed up the Rhine as far as Bingen by train, and returned by boat to Cologne. Thev saw Cohlentz, Dusseldorf and other centres, and they happened to be at Cologne during May Day celebrations, when the scarlet, banners and flags bearing the swastika were very much in evidence.
