OFFENCES IN RUGBY
The question whether Rugby players who have been ordered off the field should receive more drastic punishment when they appear before the union for a second offence was discussed at a meeting of the management committee of the Canterbury Rugby Union. Mr. E. V. Phillips said ho thought that a record should be kept of past cautions. Mr. J. T. Burrows: Cautions in past seasons should not count at all, but wo should have a record of orderings off. Mr. R. J. G. Collins said that files should certainly extend back a season. A player ordered off in tho previous year should be more severely dealt with than a player committing his first offence. The president, Mr. J. K. Moloney, said that the matter was a difficult one and further action was left over.
