FLIERS MISSING

DOCTOR AND PILOT SEARCH INSTITUTED NORTHERN AUSTRALIA (Received May 10. 11.50 p.m.) DARWIN. May 19 An ambulance aeroplane carrying Dr. David King, aged 26, a "flying doctor," of North-Western Australia, and a pilot, Reginald Robinson, 35, is missing between Wyndham and Victoria River Downs, about 200 miles further east, in the Northern Territory.

Dr. King left Wyndham yesterday to attend an urgent call from the Victoria River cattle station and has not been seen since.

An intensive search, in which Dr. Clyde Fenton, the Northern Territory "flying doctor", is participating, is being conducted to-day. The search over a wide area of northwest Australia was carried on by several aeroplanes, but so far has been fruitless.

AMERICAN TRAGEDY WRECKAGE DISCOVERED LOS ANGELES. May 18 The Lockheed transport aeropjane which was missing on her maiden flight carrying nine people, including four women and two children, to St. Paul, has been found crumpled up on the slopes of a mountain at Mint Canyon, 20 miles north of Saugus, Massachusetts.

All the nine occupants were dead, their bodies having been burned. Apparently the machine crashed with terrific force and burst into flames.
