MOUNT EDEN TRAMS
Sir,—l would appreciate a space of a few lines to reinforce the remarks of "Ratepayer" on Wednesday last. The tram service to Three Kings is unsatisfactory in some respects, namely: (a) Ihe occasional missing altogether of a scheduled Three Kings tram, at busy periods, resulting in an old emergency tram arriving to transport two loads of people at once. This has happened at least twice lately, (b) The irregular spacing of Mount Eden cars, and the consequent occupation of Three Kings trams when they come by inner Mount Eden residents. I saw three Mount Eden cars come up Queen Street one evening within the space of two to three minutes, (c) In the mornings a lack of co-operation, between trams leaving Watling Street section and those arriving there from Three Kings has resulted in unnecessary standing and straphanging. Could the Transport Board revise the time-tables and institute a few "minimum section" trams, when I am sure residents would bo both grateful and helpful? Alan D. Thomson.
