BOY SHOT DEAD
QUEST FOE PHEASANTS NOT SF.EN ,BY COMPANION FATALITY IN FAR NORTH [by telegraph —own correspondent] KAITAIA, Tuesday A Maori boy, Para Raroa, aged 13, son of' Mr. Raroa Murray, of Whangape, was shot dead while out pheasant shooting with three companions. The members of the party separated and lost sight of one another, and when a pheasant rose one of the group fired at it in ignorance of the fact that Raroa was in the direct line of fire. Evidence of identification was taken by the district coroner and the inquest, opened at Kaitaia, was then adjourned.
