NORTHCOTE BOROUGH
NEW COUNCILLORS MEET The newly-elected members of the Northcote Borough Council last night made the usual declaration and took their seats. The Mayor, Mr. R. Martin, presided. The Mayor's honorarium was fixed at £75 a year. Permission to take up a street collection on Friday, Mav 27. was granted to the Community Sunshine Association in conjunction with the Hospital Auxiliary. Mr. A. E. Greenslade was reappointed assessor under the Valuation of Land Act for the ensuing three years. . The Main Highways Board advised inability to approve of any general increase in the present mileage, after consideration of the ptospects of the extension of the present system by way of additioual declarations. Adjustments of special merit would be considered. The installation of the Mayor will take place this evening.
